Roles & Responsibilities — Jr Salesforce Developer Salesforce development (primary) Build and maintain Apex classes, triggers, and asynchronous jobs (Batch, Queueable, Schedulable) to support business logic and automations. Develop Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura components for record pages, list views, and standalone apps. Configure declarative automation using Flow Builder, validation rules, and approval processes, choosing low-code over Apex wherever feasible. Write efficient SOQL/SOSL queries and bulk-safe DML; respect Salesforce governor limits at all times. Build and maintain custom objects, fields, record types, page layouts, profiles, and permission sets per requirements. Integrations & data Implement integrations with third-party systems using REST/SOAP APIs, External Services, and Named Credentials. Perform data imports, exports, and migrations using Data Loader, Workbench, or scripted approaches; validate row counts and integrity post-load. Assist with sandbox refreshes, data masking, and seeding for lower environments. Adjacent technology work (as needed) Write small JavaScript / HTML / CSS to support Lightning components, Visualforce pages, and embedded experiences. Use Git for version control (feature branches, pull requests, code review participation) and Salesforce DX / sfdx CLI for deployments. Build minor utility scripts (Node.js or Python) for one-off automations, file processing, or API testing where Apex isn't the right fit. Contribute to internal documentation (Notion / Confluence / README) for features you ship. QA & testing Write Apex unit tests achieving the required ≥75% code coverage on all new code, prioritizing meaningful assertions over coverage-padding. Perform manual functional testing of your own work before handing off to QA, including edge cases (bulk records, missing fields, permission variations). Support release activities — regression testing in UAT sandbox, smoke checks post-deployment, and reproducing reported bugs. Triage and document bugs assigned to you with reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, and likely root cause. Participate in code reviews, raising concerns on naming, error handling, governor-limit safety, and test quality. Process & collaboration Pick up tickets from the sprint board, estimate effort honestly, raise blockers early. Deliver features per acceptance criteria; close the loop with stakeholders when a requirement is ambiguous before assuming. Attend daily standups, sprint planning, and retros; contribute to estimation and post-mortems. Follow the team's branching, deployment, and rollback procedures; never deploy directly to production without approvals. Growth expectations Build working knowledge of Salesforce trust + security model (sharing rules, FLS, CRUD enforcement) within the first 3 months. Earn Salesforce Platform Developer I certification within the first 6 months (company sponsors exam fee). Progressively take on larger, less-supervised work as familiarity with the codebase and product domain grows.
